TOPIC SUMMARY & LEARNING OBJECTIVES
This session will focus on the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, highlighting the tax credits available for construction or contractor entities with significant focus on prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. On August 30, 2023, the IRS issued proposed regulations providing additional guidance on the prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements. Learn about the latest guidance and what actions contractors will need to take to maximize eligible project tax credits.
After completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 at a high level.
2. Comprehend the relevance of prevailing wage and apprenticeship requirements and the potential impacts on their projects.
3. Identify clean energy projects that may be eligible for tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act.

BIOGRAPHY
Chad has spent 17 years working in the tax departments of regional and international firms. He spent nine of those years working in the Washington national tax offices of international accounting firms. Additionally, he worked as the tax director for a publicly traded company engaged in the renewable energy business. Chad specializes in advising clients on credits and incentives, and his focus most recently is on the Inflation Reduction Act. Chad helps clients evaluate clean energy projects for potential tax credit eligibility and structure projects to maximize credit value. Chad is well-versed on recent guidance related to prevailing wage and apprenticeship and authored Baker Tilly’s tax alert on the topic.
